Welcome to JohnnyDepp-Fans.com!

Johnny Depp is an Academy Award-nominated actor with a taste for the more eclectic roles, chosing to appear in films that he found personally interesting, rather than those he thought would succeed at the box office.

His film career began in 1984 working in a series of successful movies including A Nightmare on Elm Street, Private Resort, Slowburn, and Platoon before becoming a teen idol playing Officer Tom Hanson in the popular Fox television series, 21 Jump Street.

In the 1990's Depp began a long association with film director Tim Burton. This relationship proved to be a good match, casting Johnny in quirky roles in several of Burton's films including Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood (1994), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), and Corpse Bride (2005).

Depp's status as a major star was solidified with the success of the 2003 Walt Disney Pictures film, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, where he was highly praised for his lead performance as the wacky pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award.

In 2004, he was once again honored, receiving an Oscar nomination for his work in Finding Neverland.

Johnny Depp won’t raise children in US  October 7, 2007

Captain Jack Sparrow of the uber-popular Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is a homegrown US talent. He was born, bred and grown in the US of A. But Johnny Depp has vowed that he’ll never return to America if it meant bringing up his children there. The actor currently lives in a tranquil part of France with wife, Vanessa Paradis and their two children Lily-Rose and Jack. The New York Post has reported that Johnny Depp holds a very dim view of his home country. He apparently said, “I'm truly frightened of America in terms of raising my daughter here. I don't believe that is an option at all.”

But it seems he’s not just pessimistic about the US only coz the actor further added, “I'm not particularly optimistic about society. We're in an age where everything has gone too far. It's an ugly world.” Yeah, ugly. Don’t we all know it? Guess this means that Johnny Depp’s corner of France is so far untouched by the “ugliness”; I mean he’s raising his children there right? Hmm, maybe that’s why Brangelina is also buying up properties in France!
